People all over the world wait with baited breath to see what the most popular colors are going to be for a season. Every season fashion designers choose different colors to represent what is hot and what is not for that particular year. One year it might be oranges and blues, while another year the popular colors might be purples and yellows.

Recently, many fashion designers have unveiled their Fall 2011 designs and with them comes the chance to see what colors are hot for the season. Here’s a look at what colors are in for Fall 2011.

The Bright Colors

Every season has a handful of bright colors that fashion designers tend to favor when they are designing their fashion lines. For Fall 2011 the bright colors include a yellow known as bamboo, a coral orange known as emberglow, a pink honeysuckle, and a purple called phlox. These colors along with a deep teal are popular finds in the Fall 2011 fashion lines.

The Neutral Colors

To offset the bright colors for the season, fashion designers will use neutral colors to create a stunning effect. Neutral colors are often light colors such as whites, greys and beiges that help bring down the brighter oranges, reds, yellows and other colors in the fashion lines. For the Fall 2011 colors, white is not used but an off-white almost grey known as orchid hush is used in many items of clothing.

Both bright and neutral colors are used by fashion designers to create a stunning line of clothing for the Fall 2011 fashion lines.

Top Dresses to Get You Through the Summer

When it’s hot and muggy out, most women don’t want heavy clothing. Pretty summer dresses are great to wear all season long to keep cool and stay trendy. While many opt to wear a pair of cool jeans, dresses can be just as chic and more comfortable on a hot, summer day.

Maxi Dress

A maxi dress is a floor length dress that is loose, flowy and can be accessorized in a great way. These dresses can be belted for a more trendy look or simply worn by themselves. Pair them with a great pair of wedge heels or jeweled sandals and a clutch, and you have yourself a great evening look. For a more casual or beachy look, wear the dress with some sandals or flip flops, your biggest sunglasses and you’re ready for the beach!

Tube Dress

Tube dresses are also pretty dresses and can be made in a variety of materials including cotton. Tube dresses are also popular for those not looking for bad tan lines. They can be belted with a pair of high heels or worn with a long pendant necklace, a clutch bag and sandals for a more classic, yet sexy look.

Floral Dresses

Last but not least, floral dresses are another top dress for this summer. Floral tops are also one of the top 3 summer trends for summer, so why not wear florals on a dress? Florals can be worn as a minidress, a maxi, tube dress or a simple a-line dress. No matter the cut, florals are trendy this summer and look good on any skin tone.

See It, Wear It

From commercials to award shows and interviews to photos, there is no shortage of celebrities wearing their favorite designer clothing creating some of their favorite styles. As the pictures and clips flash by, you may feel just a touch of envy. Who would not want to be walking out of their home looking like they are headed for a red carpet event? Believe it or not, celebrity fashions are not outside of your reach.

Every outfit starts with one central piece that you are going to build the outfit around. For example, if you have some Coogi clothing that you absolutely love, choose a top or a pair of jeans to begin. Then look at the celebrity styles that you have seen and begin to try to emulate them. Look at the colors that they are wearing and try to add something in that shade.

You do not want to wear the exact outfit that you saw a celebrity wearing. That is just copying someone Else’s outfit. Take the overall look a tank top, jeans, heels, and a large purse  and make it your own. Then add something totally different like a bangle bracelet or even a dark pair of shades.

You want to take inspiration from celebrities and the media and still bring out something of yourself in everything that you wear.

When you are all put together, add a smile and push your shoulders back. So much of celebrity fashion revolves around the confidence that they feel. Know that the outfit that you created makes you look good and add a little sass to that walk.

Trends are everywhere. They change with the seasons, they change with media influence and they can also change with the economy.

The auto industry is full of trends, and these change every year. There are trends relating to colors such as the neon ‘grab my attention’ colors of the 80’s to the earthy tones of the 90’s. Media influence can dictate what consumer’s are shopping for. The economy can dictate trends such as car refinance loans.

The body style trends for 2011 seem be a longer style for sports cars. Everything from the Bentley to the new Camaro has an elongated body style.

Families are looking beyond the SUV to get them to and from soccer games. With gas prices on the rise, it seems the SUV is out and sportier style station wagon styles are the trend. Family friendly style cars such as the Equinox ride as smooth as a car but have a hatchback style that allows for adequate storage.

Truck styles seem to go from one extreme to the other. Designers are making them extra long for lots of hauling space or extra short to better their gas mileage. It all depends on the purpose the consumer is using the truck for.

Consumers are fickle overall. Our tastes change as fast as the seasons so car designers have to have something fresh to roll off the assembly lines each year. Styles and tends will change as will colors and that’s what makes the auto industry fresh and fun!

If you live in a colder part of the world, you’ve probably figured out the whole short-shorts and snow thing just doesn’t work. Of course, if you follow the latest fashions in pop culture and warmer parts of the world – jeans just aren’t what you want to wear. If you want to wear what you like but the weather won’t allow it, maybe it’s time to move.

Or you could just try cold weather fashion! Boots comes in all shapes and sizes. From ankle boots to fur lines boots, you have your choice of how much heat you want to hold in. Bare legs are not an option unless you want to lose weight by shivering. Invest in some tights, leggings and thigh highs and leave the bare legged look for summer. Of course, wear what suits your body shape and colors that flatter your skin tone.

The same goes for skirts – why skip wearing them? No matter how short the skirt, a pair of fashion leggings can keep you nice and warm. Long skirts combined with boots are very comfy, but you can still show off your ankle boots. A long scarf can also add a stream of color if the rest of your outfit is too subtle.

A few notes on color though. Wear the season’s colors and make sure to always match your boots to your skirt or scarf. Wearing too many colors can make you stick out like a sore thumb – pick your favorite season color and stick with it.

The Hippest Streetwear

The cultural phenomenon known as hip hop has presented itself in its own unique way since its inception. From its original pounding beat sound to an entire way of dress, with clothing lines springing out of the urban/skater generation, hip hop has helped to bridge the interests of all of these cultures.

Designers have made their entire lines based off the hip hop culture. Lines such as LRG Clothing have been defining the hip hop look while blending it with the urban and skater looks for a blend that appeals to all. The creators of the LRG line, Jonas Bevacqua, and MC Robert Wright, have created a line that is suitable for skaters as well as the urban and hip hop generation, softening the dividing lines of the groups. They wanted to do just that — not define someone as a “skater,” or into hip hop music, but to allow everyone to have varied interests and to have their clothing make that statement. The LRG Dead Serious hoody has sold out at prices upwards of $200, becoming one of their most-popular signature pieces.

While the hoody has become part of the entire generation of tweens, teens, and young adults, LRG has become a staple of the hip hop fashion world with their jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts, hats, and sweaters. LRG is dressing young men everywhere. The variety and design have made the clothing appealing to all genres, yet comfortable and wearable. The colors and patterns are unique to LRG, and the hip hop world cannot get enough. Hip hop is here to stay, and with LRG, hip hop fans can be dressed great too.

How to Define What Your Fashion Is?

We’re different in our own ways. No two people are alike. The same can be said about our definitions of what we deem as fashionable. How to define what your fashion is? The first step towards determining what your own personal style is to make your own fashion statement. It is you who can lay out the foundation for what your specific fashion statement will say. What makes a fashion statement special and different from others is its uniqueness. So try to be as unique and be yourself. This will quickly become the biggest ice-breaker fashionably speaking. You will be the first to recognize your fashion for what it is. People will also eventually follow suit.

Your particular fashion comes from your own comfort zone and your likes/lifestyle.  If your favorite type of clothing is loose-fitting clothes. It is best to stay with what you like the most. Settling for anything less would not be advisable. We are who we are and what makes us happiest. Meeting one’s own personal tastes from a clothing and hair style approach is all part of the plan.

You should only go with styles, colors, and designs that flatter you overall. Do things which only help to enhance and bring out your particular attractiveness in your own way. A fashion statement is something that speaks balance and spice. It is what helps you to become your own “fashion statement” to others.

Media and Fashion

Media holds such power over individuals, especially women when it comes to advertisements, image, and fashion. Every woman wants to feel better about themselves and advertising representatives pay big bucks to appeal to women’s weaknesses and encourage purchases of their products for women to feel secure, beautiful, and confident.

Women enjoy seeing actresses that they admire in advertisements, commercials, and pictured on billboards – especially if what they’re wearing catches their eye. In just a few moments of time, women can be captivated by a fragrance, item of clothing, or accessory because they saw someone else with it. This is the beauty of advertising. It is the reason why advertisers pay to show others their products.

While media has an impact on women’s desires, women still need to take ownership of their own unique self as it pertains to their image, their bodies, their style, and their personality. Because media is so impactful in today’s society, young ladies fall victim to the perfection that is often portrayed through media devices, not realizing the malady of created perfection. Young ladies are often not able to see through the veil of perfection when the goal of advertisers is t buy, become new, look beautiful. Their views of themselves become distorted and they seek to become “perfect” and will settle for nothing less.

Props must be given to companies that provide realistic representations of women, like Dove, that encourage women to use their products to be real, refreshed, and unique – rather than conform to a perfect image. This is a good mix of media and fashion that all young girls need to see.

Colors that Won’t Go out of Style

Do you find yourself attracted to similar colors every year when you start shopping for fresh new styles? There are just some classic colors that no matter what, will always be fresh, new, and will never go out of style. While some colors are specifically traditional to a season, some colors you can wear all year and enjoy doing so.

White and black are always attractive colors. Ever shop in White House Black Market? Their clothing features simple wears in these colors. You can find almost anything white, black, or mixed since this is their specialty.  Black and white are just fresh colors that look really good together. You’ve heard people make claims that you can’t wear white after Labor Day, or if you wear all white you will look washed out or bigger than you really are, and the opposite for black, that it is slimming (which is true). These colors can be a bit excessive if worn from head to toe as a single color, but are fashionable together with either plain colored items, or patterns.

Blue and red are another set of colors that always look well together. Blue jeans go with almost everything, and can be accented with many colors. When you wear red with blue, you might feel a little patriotic, but these colors complement each other well in solids or patterns.

Yellow and green are another set of colors that go well together and will have trouble going out of style. In reference to these colors, I’m talking about the traditional colors, not hues of green or yellow.

Everyone seems to have their own color combinations that they enjoy wearing. If you want to try something new and these are not the color combinations you often wear, check them out. You might find something great that you would have walked away from in the past. Let colors speak for themselves, especially colors that will never go out of style.

Diamond Carat: Key Points

Carat is the term used to refer to the weight of the diamond. However, carat is really only part of the equation when it comes to determining the size of a diamond, because the visible part of the diamond is its table or top, and carat includes the entire weight of the gem, including the parts that are set into the ring. Here are some key points to consider about diamonds:

• Carat weight needs to be considered along with the distance across the top of the diamond, which is typically measured in millimeters.

• The cut grade of the diamond, which describes its depth from table to point.

• Carat does impact measurement across the table of the diamond, and the shape of the diamond also plays a part. For example, a 0.5 carat round shape diamond may be 5.1 mm across, while a princess cut in the same carat weight may only be 4.4 mm across.

• It is possible for a lower carat-weight diamond with a higher cut grade to appear even larger than a diamond with a poorer cut but a higher carat-weight. This is an important consideration when looking at different rings.

• Choose your color, cut and clarity first, and then find a diamond in the carat weight that meets your needs and fits within your budget.

These are just some basic points to remember when choosing a diamond based on carat weight. This should not be your only deciding factor.
